Looks better than the finished product

Well, they used the pre-facelift model, just changed the engine and electrics.
Can someone ask Mclaern how old their fancy ass “Carbon-tub” is? I think its getting old... But then again, you can fool someone with new body work, those tougher to fool can be convinced with fancy new dampers.
Anyway, if it aint broke, why fix it?

You can’t see a new design if you never actually have a new design.

What if it was named the McLaren Ayrton?

Nobody outside a Portugese-speaking country would be able to pronounce it properly.

Actually, it’s a new tub. The monocage III is a modified version of the monocage II which was new for the 720s.

Exactly. It would be even more exotic and memorable that way! And how much you wanna bet you’re average American can’t even pronounce Senna, much less Ayrton. This is gonna be fun to watch rich people who think they know stuff about cars try to pronounce it hahahaaaa

Is it that different though? If it was entirely new for the 720s then fitting 620 body panels would’ve been a pain in the ass that no company would’ve gone through.

720S is a ground-up new design. Notably, the Monocage II has lower and longer lower door sills than the Monocage I in the 12C/650S/675LT.

Then I don’t know what’s up with that picture...

I would say they did a good job with their mule and camouflaging attempts. It’s clearly meant to look like a 675LT.
